Part of Project SHARE’s mission is to provide numerous opportunities for our clients to learn about health and nutrition for their entire family.
Kim Fickel, a loyal SHARE volunteer, has been teaching Kids in the Kitchen faithfully the last Wednesday of each month. Children learn to cook and prepare easy, fun, and nutritious recipes in the Project SHARE kitchen. All children between the ages of 5-12 are welcome to attend. Please call ahead to register children for Kids in the Kitchen and check the calendar for upcoming dates.
A hands-on cooking class for adults designed to promote healthy eating by using seasonal produce and food products frequently handed out at the Farm Stand or offered during our monthly food distribution. A day and evening class are offered each month to try to accommodate most schedules. The food is prepared and then enjoyed by everyone! Ingredients to prepare the recipes at home are also usually provided.
Our dynamic group, the Food for Life ladies, prepare healthy recipes and warm hospitality for all our volunteers and recipients during the week of distribution. The ladies use ingredients offered in our distribution to provide creative and nutritious ways to nourish the whole family. The Food for Life ladies meet on Monday of distribution week from 1 – 3pm to prepare food.
