Our backpack power pack program provides food to children, identified by their school counselors, at risk for going hungry over the weekends. Committed not only to their physical nourishment, Project SHARE understands that proper nutrition also helps children excel educationally. Each child in the program receives a power pack of food on Friday afternoon to feed them over the weekend. Canned pasta, cereal, dry soups, fruit cups, pudding packs, string cheese, juice and milk boxes, are typical items found in the backpack power pack.
Currently 90 children, from 6 Carlisle schools, are in need of this program and the list is growing.
