Dear Friends of the Farm Project, We have come to the end of a challenging year with the economy showing itself to our mission. Yet, despite these conditions, Project SHARE gleaning program was able to distribute more than 60,124.87 pounds of food this year, with the help of over 35 farmers. With the bountiful number of crops harvested this season, provided many opportunities for volunteers to experience gleaning and enjoy the fellowship of providing more fresh produce for our growing recipient community and the Farm Stand. Gleaning is growing in importance, and making a difference for recipients who cannot afford fresh produce. Next year, we look forward to many more gleaning opportunities with your continued support and help in gleaning fresh produce and putting into the hands of our hungry community. Look for our upcoming gleaning schedule in the Spring of 2010. We thank everyone for gleaning this year. We are now making applesauce for the Holiday dinner with the apples we harvested at Lerew Orchards with Joe.
